Your Question. "How do you deal with identity issues...particularly when you believe you are one sex, but the enemy keeps putting in your head that you really should be the other sex, because you don't fit in?"
Our Answer: This question centers on one's emotions. I mean, think about it...fitting in with the crowd is all about how you feel in the first place, right? If I find a group that accepts me, then I can feel comfortable being who I really am. But, maybe you should switch some words around. Possibly, you should say, if I can find a group that will accept me just the way I am, then I will be comfortable. So then, what way are you????? Well, as far as your gender, God has taken the guess work out of it. We know what sex we are by what we were born with. Isn't it interesting that while we can alter many body parts, there is one that we can't...the one that separates man and woman the most...the womb. Therein is the biblical definition of woman...she is a womb-man! So then, how you feel in everyday life, and how you were created, are two different things.
Notice that scripture teaches your gender is on purpose; "But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female" Mark 10:6 So there is a reason God made you the way you are, and as you grow and mature, you will eventually discover why. Don't let the world or the enemy TEMPT you otherwise. Pursue your destiny, not your feelings.
Now did you know that you can literally change how you feel? How? By changing what you eat. Just like in everyday life, where there is a solid connection between food and good health, there is also a connection between the Bible and spiritual health. One impacts the other. The question is, how hungry are you for that which will really solve your issue. Here's a taste of what God says about you fitting in...
John 15:19...If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Psalm 139:13-14...For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Much Luv in Christ
