One very interesting term that parents hear often is, "Mom...it isn't that serious!" This often pertains to where we want to go, or who we want to hang out with. It seems that because parents fear what their children might be exposed to, especially with the explosion of social media, they're always making every party, every person, and every bad word, a life or death issue. Really, is it that serious????? Am I going to hell over watching that movie??
What do you think? Do you think your parents have a reason to be "overly concerned?" Let me ask you a question. "Is it really that simple???" After all, we are believers, and we are supposed to live a Godly life. The question is, what does that look like?
Perhaps if we look at it from God's perspective, we will be less apt to stand against our parents, who are only trying to protect us from the snares of the enemy. "The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death." Provers 14:27.
Let's self-reflect. Ask yourself this: "If I am a believer, and if I'm to gauge my daily life by what the Word says, then how much of the Word do I know in order to effectively do so? In this vein, you know that Godly parents are responsible for helping you learn what you need to know in order to judge successfully. If that is so, then this scripture makes all the sense in the world..."Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth"...Ephesians 6:1-3
Still think obedience is over-rated???
Much Luv in Christ
